    Flying models and cover saves

there are some flying models that are modeled grounded (eg. space marine jet pack guys) and some that are modeled as flying (chaos raptors and gargoyles).

    Question:
When jump infantry end their movement, does it count as them having landed or not - regardless of the way the model appears.

Two questions that sprout from this one:
    1. When flying models are standing behind low cover (say a small wall), but the shooting player can see 100% of the models as they are modeled above the wall, will these guys be able to get cover saves?

    2. If you put flying models (gargoyles) and grounded units (gaunts) in front of monstrous creatures (carnifex) the shooter will not be able to see more than 50% of the monstrous creature. Here, will you assume that the gargoyles do block LOS and give a cover save to the fex, or that they have landed at the end of their turn and don't give a cover save.

    Thanks.

Be nice to your enemies, it will make them madder!

I suppose that true line of sight will count in all these situations as the miniature as modelled in point 1 is not covered at all.

With point 2 again true line of sight applies and the Fex gets the cover save.

But Jump/Jet pack troops do not ‘fly’ when determining line of sight to them, their base is always grounded.

    Cheers.

So it is probably best to remodel raptors in a grounded pose so they can't be shot over rhinos and get cover saves from stuff in front of them...

How high of a flying pose are you using on the base? It must be rediculously high for it to be denying you cover saves.

Ah yes I just found what I was looking for previously.

Page 22 “firing over a barrier,” this tells me that when firing over a small wall that the barrier is of no consequence so you would expect that the reverse is true but this really should be sorted out between the two players before the game.

    Cheers.
