So kinda a 2 for one deal here, dealin gwith Dreadnoughts and Custom bases.
So Do you feel Dreadnoughts SHOULD be mounted on thier Bases? They use the 60mm Bases as I recall, and how would you guys work with a Dread Without a Base Gameplay-wise?
As I recall it, it was said that basically any kind of custom base within is fine, so long as its at least the same size as its normal base, so you couldn't stick a Crisis Suit on to a 25mm base, but putting say an SM Character on a 40mm base was fine. I'm wondering if this has changed or anything since I've been gone? I was wondering cause I wanted to have a go at making a 'Truescale' Marine for my HQ(Pedro Kantor).
As far as the Dreadnought, I suggest it gets a base to even be considered a legal model on the tabletop.
They still encourage larger scenic bases, with only a few exceptions. Characters with special abilities that are affected by base contact (such as Canis Wolfborn), have mentions in their rules outlawing larger bases. Everything else should be fair game.
