The way I interpreted the Tank Shock entry is that it can only be done by units with the "Tank" type. But I read a battlereport about how an Ork Player tank shocked with a Trukk. Those do not have the tank type, so I was confused. Which one is it?
Correct, only Tanks can Tank Shock / Ram. But under the Reinforced Ram vehicle wargear a Trukk can Tank Shock / Ram, during DoG it's front armour is 12 (not 10 ) and it can re-roll dangerous terrain tests.
Edit: PG 93 Ork Codex.
Edit: I'd also like to note that the Trukk doesn't gain the +1 for being a Tank when ramming.
And even with the Reinforced Ram it would only ever get a S8 hit moving at max speed. (which it has to move in order to Ram)
So if you were to Ram a Land Raider at max speed, you'd take a S5 hit and the LR would take a strength 8 hit. LR would glance on 5 and Trukk would glance on 6.

First off, you'd only hit at Str8 if you were the full 18" away from the land raider. The max speed isn't what is taken into account with the ram strength bonus, but how far you've moved before you hit the enemy vehicle. Secondly, the hit back on you adds that amount to the strength, as well. So if you were exactly 18" from a LR and rammed it, you'd hit it at S8 and take a S10 hit in return (cap is S10).
You know... after you mentioned it, I remembered already having this revelation before and noticing it was a feature of Trukks. Thank you for reminding me!
Yeah, what moob said only with more suave!
I've been thinking of the additions all wrong. LR would recieve a 18"/3 + 10-10 + 0 = S6 hit. The Trukk would recieve a 14-10 + 18"/3 + 1 = S11.
I can't remember if the Tank Mass bonus is only for the rammer.
I know moob, that's what I was implying. You have to move (or attempt to move) at maximum speed, and regardless you count as having moved at max speed even if you only can move and inch.

I have a related question about the Deff Roller. Does the unit being Tank Shocked and Death or Glories take the D6 + d6 (I think thats how much extra attacks you get if they death or Glory) even if the BW is halted and they succeed on the Death or Glory? It seemed to me like it was, basically saying that you can't stop the massive Deff Rolla even if you technically destroy the Wagon, but I'm not sure.
Also, do they take the D6 hits even if they pass the Morale test? Again, the entry, to me, doesn't seem to explicitly say it only inflicts them on a successful tank shock, just any tank shock.

Yes, Yes and Yes.
Q. Does a unit that successfully stops a Deff Rolla-equipped Battlewagon’s Tank Shock suffer any hits?
A. Yes, it does. In fact, it suffers 2D6 S10 hits!
Q. Can a Deff Rolla affect more than one enemy unit with a single Tank Shock move?
A. Yes, all of the units Tank Shocked are affected by the Deff Rolla (roll separately for each unit).
Q. Can you use the Deffrolla when Ramming vehicles or does it only work when Tank Shocking non-vehicle units?
A. The death rolla does indeed inflict D6 S10 hits against vehicles, as Ramming is just a type of Tank Shock.
