My friends and I were discussing the strength of Mephiston and comparing him to other ICs when it came up, what about the close combat beast of chaos - Kharn?
At a first glance it would seem Mephiston could squish Kharn in an instant with his S10 hits, as Kharn lacks EW, however at closer examination of his special rule: 'Blessing of the Blood God' - 'Kharn is immune to the effects of psychic powers'
The wording on Mephistons 'The Sanguine Sword' - 'The librarians close combat attacks are made at Strength 10'
Also 'Unleash Rage' - 'The Librarian and his unit have the Preferred Enemy special rule until the end of the turn'
So do either of these work on Kharn?
These powers do not effect Karn, they affect Mephiston. Therefore, he has no protection.
"It takes a vast amount of self control to be this dangerous."

Also worth pointing out, transfixing gaze does effect Karn but it's a special rule not a psychic power, so, he's stuffed!
Another thing to point out, Mephiston is not an IC.
