Ok, you didn't win the roll to go first and your 5 man team has taken a casualty from enemy fire. That's only a 20% loss so no break test required. It's your turn 1 now and that team of yours has only 4 models in it but one of them has just fired his plasma weapon and it got hot and killed him! That's 25% of current unit strength. Do you take a break test? Or is it only enemy fire that forces you to take a test?
And for that matter can a stray ordinance barrage from one of your units force a pin test if it hits one of your own units?

The break test is only for enemy fire in that shooting phase.

Yes, it would cause a pin test, since the rulebook simply states that the shock of such an event would leave them pinned, whether or not it was friendly fire.

No, your shooting phase is distinct from your opponents shooting phase (after all there is a combat phase with all the associated casualty and moral between the two)
Everything you have been told is a lie!

    No problem.
