All units that cannot be put into reserves must be deployed at the start of the game, correct? I'm just wondering whether you have to have an HQ on the board at the start of the game or not.
Eg. Keeping my Daemon Prince (only HQ choice) in reserves and Deep Striking him behind my opponent's line.
No, your HQ can be in reserve, that's fine. A long as you're playing a game that allows it that is.
Ask me about the Black and White Space Marine on the Black and White Bike!!!
Some of the Battle Missions don't allow reserves. But they're horribly unbalanced for the most part anyway, and all standard 40k missions allow reserves.
"The sergeant major asked me what my job is. I told him it's to do what I am told. He gave me a medal. I like the Imperial Guard."
"Innocentia Probat Nihil"
Just to add...(though I'm sure you know). But a model/unit must have some wargear that allows it to deepstrike (like jump packs, teleporters, etc). I'm sure Daeomon Princes have these, but I don't play chaos, I just kill them!
At the beginning of turn 1, I spray my opponent's army with the bacon flavored spray. Then I unleash my Boston Terrier Squiggoth who then devours their entire bacon flavored army! There is no defense against her cuteness! All are doomed!
