Shokk attack gun double 6's and vehicles.

Heey, i found this thread on the DakkaDakka forum: DakkaDakka - Warhammer 40K Forums - Cover save againsed double 6 Shokk Attack Gunn?

The general dispute goes down to what happens to a vehicle hit by the shokk attack gun on a double 6's?

You have one side which states that the vehicle will be removed from play and suffer an automaticly pen.

And then you have the other side which states that the vehicle is not removed from play but just suffers an automaticly pen.

IMHO i m whit the group who says it is just an automatic pen for vehicles, but i wanted to see what you guys also thought.

Aside from getting into an argument on the wording of the 'model is removed'.
I personally would go for the vehicle just takes an auto pen hit. Seems like there would be no need to include that in the effect if the vehicle was also removed from play.
At the beginning of turn 1, I spray my opponent's army with the bacon flavored spray. Then I unleash my Boston Terrier Squiggoth who then devours their entire bacon flavored army! There is no defense against her cuteness! All are doomed!

RAI I agree with you, but it's hard to argue with the RAW. Any model hit is removed from play and vehicles are still models.
The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed

I wonder if in the edition that codex was written for (guessing 4th) the term 'model' did indeed only apply to non-vehicles. If anyone has the 4th edition rules handy and can check that...it would certainly clear a few things up.

This thought never occured to me, so i checked in the 4th ed rulebook, and right you are. on pg, 6 of the large book it says Non-vehicle models and vehicle models in to sepparate headings.

Aside from that, if you removed a vehicle model from play, then it would make no sense to give it an additional penetrating hit!
