A friend of mine had a disagreement about something so he asked me to post it on here and see what other people think. So heres the question,
Can you Disembark from a tank/building using the run move?
The situation was this, I had a squad of storm guardians in a building but forgot to move them out in my movement phase so since they were fleet I decided to run them and disembarked from the building after rolling the run distance, which he then declared was cheating as disembarking needed to be done in the movement phase. To resolve the conflict we rolled off for it but we both wanted confirmation of this one way or another.
The first line of the disembarking rule states that "If a unit begins its movement phase embarked on a vehicle (or in this case a building) it can disembark before or after the tank has moved."
No where that I can find does it say that it has to be done in the movement phase, it would just generally be done in the movement phase, simply that they can disembark so long as they can move. Would running not count as movement in sacrificing shooting?
You can only voluntarily do either in the movement phase.

The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed
However, are you confusing the Term Building (ie. has an armor value), and ruin (a rubble building with no armor value that offers area terrain cover.) If it was the latter, it would be perfectly acceptable to run out of the building. (ie. Ruin)
