As this is a seperate table entirely to the 40k codex, i would assume that AP1 has no additional effect on a super-heavy vehicle? as from what i see a destroyer weapon only confers an additional +1 on the table, how could an AP1 weapon be just as devestating on the vehicle?
Thats Games Workshop logic for you! I think that, even though some super heavies have less armour value than non super heavy vehicles, you've just gotta imagine that it takes better and stronger weaponry to take a superheavy out.
I would say you are incorrect; using the latest rules from Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2, the Super heavy damage table states:
Glancing hit: -1
Penetrating hit: 0
AP 1/Destroyer hit +1
Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2 is the most up to date rules released so far, so I would assume this is meant to be taken as a clarification.
The stand by my original point: use the modifiers listed. If you're using the latest forgeworld book then yes, but if the OP doesn't have it in HIS book (which I guess is the apocalypse book they sell in GW), then no.
Ah, just been looking up some stats through forge world models (i only have IA apoc 1) via their experimental rules, i wondered why some D weapons have AP1 but clearly that is the reason why, or for normal vehicles, why waste the shot though?
Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2 updates the Super Heavy damage chart to include the +1 for AP1 weapons (though no +1 for open topped).
I don't think there was a bonus for AP1 when the GW Apocalypse book was written (though I didn't play 4th edition, so I may be mistaken).
Indeed I agree that AP1 should affect super heavies just as normal vehicles.
Be sure to agree with your opponent before hand to be sure you are both on the same page.
At the beginning of turn 1, I spray my opponent's army with the bacon flavored spray. Then I unleash my Boston Terrier Squiggoth who then devours their entire bacon flavored army! There is no defense against her cuteness! All are doomed!
