As Fateweaver allows a re-roll on failed Invulnerable tests, and the psker ability "Null Zone" forces successful rolls to be re-rolled, does this mean that a re-roll can be re-rolled?
Daemon gets blasted by a Space Marine and fails it's invul test. Because its within 6" of Fateweaver, it re-rolls it's test and, this time, it succeeds. As the Space Marine player has his psyker within 24" and had already successfully cast a "Null Zone" - presumably the daemon would have to roll it's save again?
This has been dealt with numerous times, and I think its in the FAQ now.
Both effects apply SIMULTANEOUSLY. This means that you roll normally, re-rolling both successes and failures. This would mean that you re-roll all the dice exactly once, therefore effectively rolling twice for nothing.
The FAQ (iirc) now points out that this is redundant, so you may opt to roll all the dice once instead of rolling them all twice. This has also been the general community consensus for some time.
Main rulebook very explicitly states no re-rolling a re-roll, ever. Otherwise this would have an infinite re-roll loop.

I think this is the FAQ query that psichotykwyrm was referring to:E.Originally Posted by GW Main Rulebook FAQ

It has been FAQ'd, in fact strangely enough, shortly after my gaming group had a disscussion on what would happen when nullzone affected a fortuned warlock squad, they released the FAQ. We decided that since you can't re-roll a re-roll, that null-zone canceled out fortune. It was just the simplest way to do things instead of rerolling for two different things. All successful saves gets rerolled and all failed get rerolled, basically pick up all the dice and roll them twice? Waste of time.
