I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was an offcial adeptus mechanicus army list out there on the net, in citidel journal or whatever(and I'm not accepting that doctrinized imperial gaurd list that plays its self as adeptus mechanicus, I'm sorry but this list is just horrible). Just wanted to know, thanks.
To my knoweledge there is not. The doctrine list is the best you can do for now. With the new SM codex you can also make a very machine and techmarine heavy list however.
The enemies of the Emperor fear many things. They fear discovery, defeat, despair and death. Yet there is one thing they fear above all others. They fear the wrath of the Space Marines!
As far as I know, the Adeptus Mechanicus doesn't march to war on the same scale as 40K, because they don't have their own infantry. They have the Legio Titanicus, and they contribute techpriests, but they don't maintain standing armies of their own. The guarding forces on forgeworlds are usually planetary guard, or IG brought in from nearby.
They have their own infantry, the Tech Guard or whatever they're called.
They certainly do. Their main force is the Skitarii, human soldiers with bionic augs, etc. - comparable to storm troopers in terms of training, but much better equipped due to being the soldiers of the Machine God. Most forgeworlds have huge regiments of Skitarii, their local standing army (most forgeworlds admittedly have IG as well).Originally posted by mEGALOMANIAC@Nov 9 2004, 03:52

They do quite a few operations by themselves, but their main job is supporting the Titan Legions and manning the huge ordnance weapons of the Centurio Ordinatus.
But the main spearhead of the Adeptus Mechanicus are the Titan Legions, a much larger scale than 40k. Ranging from small (relatively) Warhounds - the models that FW do - to huge Warlord Titans, they are extremely potent machines of destruction.
If you wanted to do a Skitarii army list, they are comparable to IG Storm Troopers in terms of skill, but much better equipped. The Grenadiers, Carapace Armour, Cyber-enhancement, Close Order Drill and Hardened Fighters IG doctrines would work quite well for Skitarii.
My bad, never heard of the Skitarii :hmm:
I still believe that they wouldn't really march to war on that scale. Aren't they more of a home guard for forge worlds?
I dislike the skiitari list thats on the GW site as it kind of, well, sucks, but I do like that set of doctrines you set up Anacron, but do you have to unlock storm troopers to be able to use them?
The "Grenadiers" doctrine gives you 3 Stormtrooper units you can take as Troops, and you don't need to take "Stormtroopers" as a doctrine to have them. If you wanted any more than that, they would count as Elites as normal and you would need to take the Stormtrooper doctrine to have them.
The Iron Warrior chaos legion would be the best, you get SM with bassies. Use them.
