I note that the AP on a Singing Spear is listed as "N/A".
I would just like to confirm that this does not mean glancing hits only, which would be the case if the AP was "-".
So, all models get their normal armour save vs Singing Spears, but it can still score penetrating hits against vehicles.
Based on the fact that even the older Eldar Codex distinctly lists Singing Spear as AP: N/A, and other weapons as AP: - when appropriate, I'd say that AP: N/A and AP: - are two different things.
Thus my take would also be that Singing Spears are capable of Penetrating vehicles.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
That would also be my take.
Obviously the question is only of relevance if you throw the spear, as in combat AP values are not used.
All the old Specialist Games resources are currently being uploaded at the Tactical Command forums, and you can find them here: http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/fanatic/.
as strange as this may sound, I think the intent was to make the throwing of it *like* a cc attack (hence the no AP rating). So the target would get its armor save, and you could penetrate a vehicle.
Wednesday nights at GW (Ontario Mills in Ontario, CA)
4-7-05 - SoB 1200, S&D Omega, Opponent was new.
4-7-05 - ME! Chris beats me again with his space wolves (he is a good palyer without his eldar).
Actually, the impression I get is that they simply forget that it could be thrown at non-vehicle models (hence, no need for an AP value).Originally posted by justinb67@Feb 7 2005, 11:57

Anyway, whatever the reasoning, I'm glad there seems to be unanimous assent that it is not AP -. (While four voices in agreement may not mean much, I find it hard to believe no one would have stopped by to prove their superiority and call us all idiots if there was a strong counter-argument out there ).
Thanks all for weighing in.
