If I had a squad of Grey Knights facing Space Marines Terminators in close-combat and they weren't doing too well could I move my Grey Knight Terminators (that are convieniently placed 6" away ) into assault with the Terminators?
End result Grey Knights and the Terminators in assault with the Space Marine Terminators.
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
yes you can as long as their within 2 inches of the sapce marines
Additional units joining into an existing close combat are treated exactly the same as a regular assault. The new assaulting unit must be within assault range, gets the appropriate assault bonus, base-to-base get the usual attacks and those within 2" add supporting attacks. Keep in mind the new unit MUST have at least one model reach base to base. If your first unit completely blocks them from making contact, they cannot assault. A second unit cannot add ONLY supporting attacks to the first unit, one of them must make B2B contact to engage.
