With the new SM Codex, everybody knows that the new assault cannon, teleport homer and rhino rules are used even for non-SM armies (like Deamonhunters). Now, I assume that this also goes for Land Raider Crusaders, but I want to check. Does the entry in the SM codex for LRC's totally supplant the entry in the Deamonhunter codex? That is, the points go up, the hurricane bolters work differently, and the Power of the Machine Spirit is included?
Thank you in advance.
yep, that they do. As the Deamonhunters codex is in bad need of an update, eveything in the new SM codex over writes everything by the same name in the Deamonhunters codex
actually it doesn't, the DH PDF update to 4th does not mention that the GK LRC uses the same entree form the SM codex
There has been no official ruling on the matter, but GW has stated on the GW forum (NOT official) that the assault cannon is just like the one in the new SM codex.
I have heard someone say that they have also stated the the Land Raiders should use the stats from SM codex, but haven't read this myself.
What I suggest you do, is talk to your opponent and explain how you would like to use your landraider, be it the old one or the new one. If you do it in a fair and polite manner, you shouldn't have any problem

Dreachons right, if its not there then it cant be used by the Grey Knights,
at the end of the day the new space marine codex is well..........new which means that all other codex are outdated in comparrison to it, it will be the same with next months tyranids and the tau codex after that (or eldar i forget which one follows tyranids but tau and eldar are the next ones to be done)

except that was written before the SM codex came out. It is generally agreed that the new SM stuff overirdes the direct equivalents in Daemonhunters codex. Don't know where it says that officially, but it makes sense to anyone who's not trying to be jerk about it.
I don't think really applies to stuff like dreadnaughts, which have slightly different point break downs now, but mostly total up the same. Just the obvious things like bionics and assault cannons.
But.......what has changed about LRC's? How do hurricane bolters work now? Lrc's are more expensive?
BTW, couldn't Land raiders always get machine spirit? If so, I would think that is just a option Ordo Malleus doesn't have.
How have teleport homers changed?
Damnit, do I need to buy Codex Sm just to use my GK properly?
So hold on a sec… the hunters get rending from the SMs but nothing else??? I only play 1 Daemonhunter and he plays the way I just stated, I will have to correct him. Sorry for the crappy answer, I have just been told that a lot recently.
but wait a sec, am I being cheated or not? I.E. are the changes upgrades or downgrades?
Somebody want to tell me how the new LRC's are different?
Well, hurricane bolters don't have thier special rule about firing regardless of distance moved. Also, the SM Codex says all LRC's automaticly have Machine Spirit, which not generally an option for Deamonhunter's vehicles. Lastly, there is a slight point bump (probably to offset the rending assault cannon and the machine spirit).
As far as using your Deamonhunter's properly...the new assault cannon rules and the changes to teleport homers are pretty beneficial, so it's probably worth it, if your opponent requires you to have all your rules present. Otherwise, just go to the store and memorize them.
