Where can I find rules for special characters? I'm looking for rules for Space Wolves in particular, especially for characters like Bjorn the Fell-Handed, Njal Stormcaller and Kyrl Grimblood, etc. They're in the old codex but of course their stats are a bit unrealistic for the current 40K rules - WS 8 and BS 7 for Njal for instance... I don't think so!
You use the rules stated for them in the Codex, updated (if at all) as per the appropriate Codex's FAQ on GW's site.
About half of the space wolf special characters were removed for 3rd edition Im afraid. Those models are no longer legal to use, as they have no stats.
Bjorn became the venerable dreadnought, the other two became the random characters space wolves have Im betting (rune priest, wolf priest, iron priest, etc)
--- The models themselves are legal to use, as long as You use them as WYSIWYG representations of current SW Codex entries. (Y)Originally Posted by Kirasu
The characters themselves of course are no longer valid, since they do not have current stats or points.
