I was checking and in the Codex Chaos Space Marines the Sonic Blaster is in the Slaanesh armor and can be given to any SM with a bolter for +5 points. It however does say it is a special weapon. So could I have addtional models in the sqaud with sonic blasters? Could I give them another special weapon like a Melta Gun? My second qestion just came up in a test I was running before thinking of buying terminators. They have 2 attacks so if one has a Blast Master then they can make 2 attacks with it in its heavy 1 mode? Can it make 4 attacks with it in its Assult 2 model with pinning? |

from what i understand, sonic blasters may be issued to the whole unit. you can however buy however many meltaguns the unit options allow. think of sonic blaster as an extra option, where any model in the unit can replace their bolter with one, and meltaguns still have a limit as for the blastmaster, methinks not. you are limited to heavy 1 no matter how many attacks you have.

Read the rulebook.. the attacks characteristic only applies in CC. If you ask me, a blastmaster on terminators seems pointless except for fluff reasons.. since you're giving up a very effective weapon and paying the same ammount of points you would to include it in a tactical squad. There is no maximum number of special weapons in a CSM squad.. there is, however, a maximum number of meltaguns, plasma guns or flamers. Since the sonic blaster is neither, you can have as many as you can afford and be bothered to model. |

There really is no such thing as a special weapon anymore except if you play IG or something.. Its just an old term from 2nd edition where you were limited to X number of models with weapons from the "Special weapons" section You see in 2nd edition you had this massive page of wargear which had like 7 subcategories.."Special" and "Heavy" being two of them and units were allowed X from special and X from heavy |
