ok i rolled a pen hit in hand to hand with my tyrant and rolled a 3 (destroy one dreadnoguht weapon, my choice). now that dreadnought power fist counts right?
we said yes after a talk but i want to make sure.
When you get a "weapon destoyed" you may destroy what ever weapon the dreadnought must have. this includes the close combat weapon... it's a weapon isn't it?
Hmm, if a dreadnought had 2 CC weapons and then lost one as above, would it lose an attack as well?
And to the first question, yep, the power fist or whatever definetely counts as a weapon to be destroyed.
thats what i thought, he was playing GK and so when i sissy slapped his grandmaster, dreadnoght and captin type guy he was kinda *****ed and disputted it.
When simply destroying a weapon... like for example an autocannon or lascannon I don't think he looses one attack.
No wait... I think he does.
If the dreadnought has two cc weapons and looses one of them he looses on attack.
If the dreadnought is immobolized I also think it looses one attack.
You can put it like this... if the dread is incapable of miving how should it be able to kick or stomp on anyone?
If it hasn't any weapons, cc and shooting how can he try to slam anyone?
Without legs or weapons he won't do much harm by just twisting his torso upon his leg joint.
Note that a dread has a modified strength in parenthesis. If you choose to destroy the dreadnought close combat weapon (which definitely is a weapon), then it loses a lot of strength and it doesn't ignore armour saves anymore.
The dread ccw is a weapon, because it doesn't have to be chosen, you can make a shooty-only dread with lascannon and missile launcher but without dccw. It's even listed as a weapon in the codex entry!
Very important bit there... thanks for adding it...
One thing I am unsure... when adding an additional close combat weapon to the dreadnought, some models have a smaller weapon like say a meltagun under one arm, how do you deal with the attacks then?
If the arm is broken, can he still use the meltagun?
I would think so, but when a weapon is destroyed it's like ... blown away...
So if the arm is missing, how should he then be able to fire a weapon mounted on that missing arm?
No he can't. The codex entry always says "DCCW with incorporated storm bolter" or something like that, as it's incorporated it blows up along with the rest of the dccw.
Ze titles yez...

no he the dread doesn't lose attacks when he loses his ranged weapons, I'm pretty sure about that. (they're not CCWs, so they wouldn't be added additional attacks in the first place).
Oh, and since it was mentioned, a dreadnought loses one attack for *each* immobilized hit he takes, they stack.
