I cant for the love of emperor seem to beat the new 'nids in any game meaningfuly more than 500 points.
Without number keeps the game going but they can't acomplish anything, they never want to play anything other than cleanse.
The only time I beat one of them since the new rules was when they gave up on the 3rd turn when my aspiring champion in my chaos army killed their carnifex in one turn (Daemonic Talons, rolled all 6 on 5 attacks).
What am I ever to do?
Keep in mind that you get full victory points for the gaunts every time you kill them. You can't kill them all, but you can win by score.
What kind of games are you playing? If all you want to do is have a basic battle without objectives, I recommend the Seek & Destroy mission (page 82 of the rulebook).
All they want to do is last man standing type games (well they have no men so I guess I auto win).
Then the guy you are playing is the problem, not the rule itself.
And I would recommend Iron Wariors for the CSM to fight such an army.
Just make a rule that basically says if you kill everything but the Without Number guys then they're beat. It's still going to be to your disadvantage but you might win once in a while.Originally Posted by Osaria

More appropriate would be to decide that a returning brood of Gaunts that are "Without Number" does not count as a surviving unit. This allows a "Without Number" brood to count as a surviving unit as long as it has not yet been destroyed for the first time.

i have tyranids and ive used those without number rules and there ok but if you take out the synapse it should be pretty easy considering the gaunts only have LD 5 and eventually they will just run of the board that happened to me
