This is a question which has come up repreatedly in our games vs Blood Angels, does the Feel no pain rule work with weapons that don't allow an armour save during shooting(ie AP3 weapons)? The rule is specific when mentioning instant death weapons abd CC weapons, but not shooting weaponry.
Hive Fleet Fuzzy Bunny: Lots and lots of points of Nids (4000pts+)
The Chapter of the Damned: 5500pts of Dark Angels
The Children of Fulgrim: 5-6000pts of Emperors Children
The Kabal of the Bloodied Claw: 2000pts of Dark Eldar
yes. the only shooting that can negate the feel no pain save is that where the strength is double the targets toughness. ap is ignored for feel no pain purposes in shooting.
however in cc the feel no pain can be ignored by a weapon that ignores armour saves (or ignores armour saves for that wound, eg. rending) or by an attack whose strength is twice the toughness of the wounded model (or both).
