this has really been bothering me for a while.my brother and i cant find the rules.
my question is, does the hammer head count as a fast vehichle?or the devilfish? not 24" wise cause that wouldnt really make sense but the whole 12" or 6" glancing hit rule thing
i asked the GW staff and they said that yeah it does but under the entry it just sais-skimmer,tank-nothing about being fast
this is driving m,e insane so plz help

Check the FAQ, but I seriously doubt that the Hammerhead is Fast. Since it doesn't say it in the rules, and GW is notoriously innacurate, I'd say they're not.
A man's at odds to know his mind, for his mind is aught he has to know it with.
They are not fast. You should buy the upgrade for them that lets them fire as if they were fast (moving more than 6") - I believe you will find the cost (and effect) in your codex under "vehicle upgrades".
Does that rule about "move more that 6" and you can only get glancing hits", not count for EVERY skimmer in the game?
Except for the monilith because its "slow and ponderous"

Ah - yes off course. I thought his problem was that he wanted to fire AND be covered by the "Skimmers moving fast" rule.
Note: "Skimmers moving fast" does not refer solely to "fast" skimmers, only those moving more than 6" in the last turn.
Let's see here.
As stated before, neither the Hammerhead nor the Devilfish count as a Fast vehicle.
However, they are both still Skimmers and all Skimmers (minus the Necron Monolith) get the "Skimmers Moving Fast" rule if they move over 6" in the movement phase, making all penetrating hits count as glancing.
If you buy a Multitracker for the vehicle from the Tau Vehicle Armoury, then it allows the Hammerhead/Devilfish to fire a weapon as if it were a Fast vehicle. So, I could take a Hammerhead with a Multitracker and move 12", still firing the Hammerhead's Railgun, for example.
Hope that makes things more clear.
