Alright, these might seem obvious, but I want to confirm my suspicions...
1. As long as you fill the minimum requirements (1 HQ & 2 Troops) you can take whatever else you want, correct? I once heard that you had to take a certain amount of troop choices to be able to take a certain amount of Elites or Heavies, and that sounded wrong...
2. (Note this is IG specific) Does a regimental standard's cost come from the commander's wargear or is it just added onto the cost of the whole unit? Also, is the regimental standard's cost in addition to, or in place of the company standard?
3. Where can I find the rules for Kill Teams? I got the Battle for Macragge rulebook sittin around but haven't found anything in there... is it something exclusively in the full-size rulebook, or is it a chapter approved thing, or is it simply up somewhere that I just haven't noticed?
Concerning the Kill Teams rules... if it's not against the forum rules (i.e. if GW has the rules available for free somewhere that i can't find) and no one knows of a link to where it would be, could someone explain what they are... or for that amtter what a kill team even is?
Thanks a lot!
There is a specific amount of units you can take as far ash HQ, ELITES, Heavies etc.. you can find that info in the main 40K rulebook
The regimental standard is put into the cost from a standard bearer in the commanders retinue (correct me if I'm wrong on that please)
Kill teams are in the main 40K rulebook and covered under the forum's policy on rule disclosure.
(its $50 USD and well worth it for the art alone... or you can get the $90 ultra mega edition in some places)

Also Some armies (not all, but most eldar and some others) have rules that require you to take certain numbers of units to field other kinds (no more guardians than rangers in allatoic, no more elites than guardians and the such in others). All this should be found in the codex that you are using. Also be aware that if you are playing mission specific games, the force organization chart can very a bit (no heavies allowed, or minimum of 3 troops) so check the bgb for these.
As mentioned, kill team rules are in the back end of the bgb, check the index but I believe the page ref already given is correct.
Also note that most of the examples for kill teams that GW uses in that section break most of the kill team rules, so read the rules a few times before looking at the examples. (only one heavy weapon, eldar team has 2, or the example of all pathfinders also breaks a few)
