Looking at the rules for Artillery on Pg 56 of the BGB, I was just wondering what would count as artillery.
It seems to me that any heavy weapons that require 2 crew to operate would fall into this catagory.
Or am I completely off base, and there are entries in the appropriate codexes to state what counts as Artillery, that I simply havn't seen? If so, could you refrence a codex and page that I can look up?
If any 2 crew heavy weapon counts as an artillery, then I have some additional questions below. If Not, then please simply ignore them.
Would this mean that an IG unit with a heavy bolter is subject to the limitations of the Artillery rules?
Say a volley of bolters is fired into a unit of 20 IG with a heavy bolter. If there are 10 hits from the bolters, would the rules for hitting the gun come into effect?
What about 20?
If the gun is hit, whats the Procedure for destroying it, IE whats is, or rather how would one go about determining, the toughness/armor value of the weapon?
Thanks in advance.
eldar faq tells us that the heavy support weapons (doom weaver, vibro cannon, and d-cannon) are classed as artillary. The codexs will tell you if it's applicable.
IG teams aren't artillary- 2 man teams don't constitute it, check codex for it.
The rules say what to do. In the case of eldar artillary, they are AV 10, if you get a glance or pen, they are destroyed. hope this helps.
Thanks. Completetely missed the armor mention in the BGB.
I was just curious seeing as how I have never seen an artillery classed unit on the battle field. But I don't have any eldar oponents, so I guess thats why.
