hi, haven't played since 3rd ed. Have there been any changes to the rules regarding table quarter claiming? (I vaguely remember a squad reduced to less than half of its models is illegal, as well as an immobilized vehicle)
I just got the new rulebook and I noticed the new term is scoring. Though I can't find any specifics on it (p.80)
From my understanding of it, if you have a unit in a quarter (that doesn't have a description excluding it from being able to take area objectives) that they will, even if below half health or immoblized.
Don't quote me on this! This is just my understanding. If only your units are in a quarter, you get it. If an enemy has models in one as well, neither of you get it. And if no one is in it, no one gets it.

The table on page 85 describes what constitutes a scoring unit.
Why do the survivors remain anonymous -- as if cursed -- while the dead are revered? Why do we cling to what we lose while we ignore what we still hold?
Name none of the fallen, for they stood in our place, and stand there still in each moment of our lives.

Only scoring units can capture table quarters. What is and isn't a scoring unit can be found on page 85.
Basically, immobilised and destroyed vehicles don't count, squads below half strength don't count, independant characters don't count and transports don't count.
"You challenge me knowing that I am Xiahou Dun!?"
aah there it is! Thanks, mates
"Dedicated Transports can't score" --I like this rule. I kind of disliked the old rule that cheap transports can contest quarters.
Huh. ( When your dedicated transports cost 135 points, and are powerful battle-tanks in their own right, this rule starts to slightly piss you off. (I'm talking about Wave Serpents.)Originally Posted by bluecase
