Could someone tell me what page I can locate what exactly "Favored by the Gods" does, or give me a good explanation of what it does? I've read posts referring to "Free champion" but that's a little confusing to a n00b like me.
And before anyone says "RTFM," I did. THe only thing I can manage to find in the Chaos codex is where it's mentioned at the beginning of the books of Chaos; I.E, how to get them, not what it is and how it works.

I must be blind, because I still don't see it. From my understanding (minor, as it is), Squads that are favored by the gods get something from their chosen god. Flipping to Nurgle (I'm playing Death Guard), I find the cost of the mark, the gifts of the gods that Nurgle worshippers get (Fearless/Daemonic Resilience), restrictions on weaponry, and the addition of True Grit.Originally Posted by Dodge
Then I get into a PM with Abraham Lincoln, here on the forums, and he writes:I've asked him for clarification on this, but haven't got a reply, which is why I've posted here. What is he talking about? Is there such a thing as a "free" aspiring champion?Originally Posted by Abraham Lincoln
On the right column on page 38 of your Chaos space marine codex, 2 paragraphs up from the little table there is something written there under the title 'Favoured Units'. Basically it relates to the gods favourite numbers... if you read it it tells you if your unit has the same amount of troops in it as the god's fav. number then they are favoured. Pretty much universally, a favoured unit gets a free asp. champ and +1 to the summoning roll.
Hope this helps
If you still have problems, Pm me and I'll explain it further
I think it's written in the books of the different gods (Book of Tzeentch, Khorne etc) under "Playing a pure XX-army" There it says you get a free champ and +1 on the summoning.
BTW the free champ upgrade is only for the 13 points, not all the wargear or the basic cost (incl mark).
It's a tricky one this codex, this I give you.
