What happens when a unit is forced to break unit coherency? Like, say i have my grots spread out to give cover saves to the orks behind them. My opponenet assaults the middle of the line and, predictably, kills every guy he can reach. what happens to the guys on the end of the line, who are now out of unit coherency?
A unit out of coherency may do nothing except move and when it does moves it must try to move back into coherency. Also, a unit out of coherency may not regroup after falling back until is somehow able to re-enter unit coherency.
If the unit is already in close combat, then coherency doesn't really matter. You have to try and remove casualties such that you remain in coherency, but if that is impossible, you'll suffer no ill effects for the duration of combat.
Why do the survivors remain anonymous -- as if cursed -- while the dead are revered? Why do we cling to what we lose while we ignore what we still hold?
Name none of the fallen, for they stood in our place, and stand there still in each moment of our lives.
--Duiker, "Deadhouse Gates"
As Ostol sayd, for units already in combat the only real effect is that when you move you must try and re-establish co-herancy, by inference this includes pile-in moves, but otherwise as part of fall back or, really unlikely, consolidation moves, you must try and re-establish coherancy (whilst obeying other rules of the move) nd can not do anything else until you are in coherancy
Everything you have been told is a lie!
That means NO SHOOTING until EVERY model is within coherency. If a single model is out then the whole unit is out.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
p 15 and 16 under unit coherency.
Enough said. BTW, check the index, as it has most of these things listed rather simply in it.
If you still can't find it, we are of course more than happy to point out where, but shouldn't be posting what the rules are.
