im not a space marine player, but i recently bought a space marine codex and was wondering about the ultramarine army, do they have set special rules like white scars and imperial fists? cuz i cant find that they have specified special rules thanx for the help
Ultramarines have no traits like other chapters do (e.g white scars).
However the Ultramarines do have a lot of special characters so that sort of makes up for it.
im sorry but this is probably stupid question as well..
so every game u get to choose new traits for ultramarines?
There is nothing stopping you doing that, but if you do use any traits you are NOT allowed to use the Ultramarine special characters.
If that makes any sense.
Yeah, as outsider said if you're playing them normally they have no advantage traits and no disadvantage traits. Therefore they don't get all the cool bonuses of other armies. I don't like ultramarines personally, but they do have some great special characters, as outsider also said.
Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
The ultramarines story goes that their primarch was the greatest tactician of all time and after the Horus heresy he wrote the Codex Astartes. This document set down tactics and organisation rule for all space marine.
The ultramarine’s follow this to the letter, so they get no trait advantages. Others do not to a small degree and get the minor divergence/minor drawback and so on….
But that’s just fluff.
Rules wise, if you want to play Ultramarines – no traits for you. If you want to play with traits, pick your traits and start your army!
