Hello, I have some questions on how to treat hills as cover:
1.) Are all hills treated the same? Such as would a plateau-like hill with a nearly vertical lip and a flat top be treated the same a gentle rolling hill with a crest?
2.) With the nearly vertical lip how you do you handle movement up and down the sides would you just take difficult and/or dangerous terrain tests on those sides and move normally once in it, or what?
3.) Can Lictors deepstrike into hills?
for terrain generally decide with your opponent what it counts as before the game.
we play all hills are the same. they're size 3 and block line of sight to anything behind them and to move onto the hill measure just the straight horizontal distance from your start point.
Anyone else have anything to contribute?
Hills are not area terrain so you are supposed to use actual LOS when shooting to or from them. If a hill has a definite cliff face you must decide if it will be normal, difficult, or imapassable terrain before the game starts.
I believe lictors can deepstrike into area terrain, but I'm not positive. If this is the case then they cannot deepstrike into hills as they are not area terrain. But again, you should discuss this before the game starts.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
