You know how with 4th edition rules you resolve barrages by removing the casualties of one template before determining models affected for the second template?
I was just wondering how it works with SoB's multiple flamer templates and and Divine Guidance?
Divine Guidance is an Act of Faith that is invoked after determining the number of models hit but before any rolls to wound are made.
Basically you resolve template weapons one at a time. But it's still just 1 squad shooting.
So my interpretation of how to make it easier is to roll in advance, then roll to wound for template #1, then template #2, etc. I don't think it's where you need to use a Divine Guidane for every template weapon in a squad. After all, you don't use it each time just becuase someone fires a different weapon within a squad.
I don't think that quite answers my question.
I am aware that Divine Guidance works for all members of a faithful unit the phase it was invoked.
The point of Divine Guidance is that you work out how many hits your squad achieves before deciding to invoke or not invoke Divine Guidance.
But if there are several template weapons, barrage rules mean you'll be rolling the wounds and removing casualties caused by the first template weapon before you can even lay down the second template.
Seeing the problem?

Uh, what problem? With flamer weapons you know how many hits you get, just count up how many units are under the template. And since when is a flamer a barrage weapon? Barrage weapons are not necessarily template weapons. A flamer is a template weapon, not a barrage weapon.
When firing two flamers you resolve them one at a time, where exactly do barrage rules come into play? (see the multiple template weapons entry) ( 4.0 rules p.31) You won't be rolling any of the wounds until the hits on each template are calculated.
P. 18 gives you the shooting section, you roll to hit with all of them, then roll to wound with all of them. The divine guidance comes in between steps 3 and 4 in the shooting process.
What you are suggesting is that you use 1 flamer, auto hits on all, roll to wound, then use flamer 2, auto hits, roll to wound. You are going from step 3 to 4 back to 3.

Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
