i was wondering if vehicles can face a enemy while moving back. meaning it doesnt have to turn around to move away while exposing its vulnerable rear armor to enemy fire, and can normal troops do that also?
Sure, since 40k doesn't have flanks like fantasy it doesn't matter what way they face for movement.
There is nothing stopping you doing what you propose.
And because of the rules, you can drive your tank sideways too. If someone calls you on this, smile, drive it normal and turn it sideways, measuring near edge to near edge, as per movement rules. The result is the same
