This is related to the WYSIWYG thread here... I've got a custom SM chapter I'm working on. At some point I wanna use a techmarine. I basically want it to be played with EXACTLY the same rules as in the SM codex, including the full servo-harness.
Trouble is, I've seen too many players with too many techmarines with full harnesses. Even with custom color schemes, they look fantastic, but, well... they all kinda look the same after a while.
Anyway, I wanna model mine different, but still use the same full servoharness. The question: If I took, say, the IG enginseer model and put the SM techmarine servo-harness on its back, can I field that as a SM techmarine, or is someone gonna give me a hard time, insist that the enginseer's not wearing power armor, etc.?
Bear in mind that I may play in full Rogue Trader-esque tournaments, so I wanna make sure it's "legal."
It should be legal as the enginseer looks sorta like a techmarine. As long as it has the same equipment and gear as a techmaine you should be fine, see if you can model some SM shoulder pads on so is is really didtinguishable as a SM.
