I am making a squad of IST by converting the cadian shock troop box. I modelled masks on all the guys and getting backpacks with wires hooked up to the guns to make them look like the karskins models. However when it comes to the squad vet I am still not sure how I will use him in my army. As much as I would like to buy a vet model for every combination I can't afford that. I figure the options are probably going to be power weapon or ccw and plasma or bolt pistol. I figure that the power weapon and ccw can be modeled from the same sword. But its the plasma and bolt pistol I am not sure off. Would you be okie with me using a bolt pistol as a plasma pistol, plasma pistol as a bolt pistol, or should go all out and cut the gun at the handle use a pin and be able to swap them out whenever I need (sounds cool and not easily done)
Why don't you use a holstered pistol, that way you can use it as either one and claim model rep.....
In my experience, most people don't mind if you use a bolt-pistol as plasma, as long as you have an army list written down before the game (no swapping mid game), the only place this won't work is at tornaments and similar, where model rep is mandatory......
AND you let them know what it is before hand as well. I just had nasty surprise finding out that a squad of 30 termagants were in fact wielding devourers, not fleshborers.Originally Posted by Cripsin

Sorry.... I did mean to mention that
For ease. I'd go with the holstered gun.
