when you make a sweeping advance do you compare the intiative statistic for each model or the whole squad? (other wise it's possible for one model to wipe out a whole squad)
You take each units initiative characteristic. This means that it is possible for a single model to catch a squad with sweeping advance and wipe it out.
You do not compare every unit in the squads initiative to every unit in the other squad.
Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
And you use the majority inititive, so if a character with I5 is attached to an I4 squad you use I4.
In an hour of darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of insanity look to the madman to show the way.
Which is why it is an advantage to detach your character (who usually has higher I) from the group right before you charge. So if you lose combat you have to take 2 checks (1 for character 1 for squad) and also roll 2 dice for chasing people.
