I just have a very basic question, I don't play Eldar, but was told about Eldritch Stom, and having seen a Craftworld Codex, I began to think about the Farseer Council for Ulthwe armies.
I do not have an Eldar Codex, so I have not looked up any of the special powers of farseers, but was wondering:
a.) Is this a ranged attack that replaces shooting?
If yes: Is it a decent attack?
If no: Do they have a ranged psychic attack?
Basically, I want to make an Ulthwe / Harlequin army of the Black Library, but my Harlequins are going to need some cover (besides the Death Jesters, of course)
Yes its a ranged attack but its rather limited in its use and therefore not relly worth it. The main power you want to use for shooting at infantry is Mind War.
"They say the Darkness consumes you. They don't say what happens after It's done."
Thank you very much.
Mind war is also somewhat limited. It allows you to pick off specific models in a unit but it is only reliable against models with a lower leadership and you will probably spend ~300 pts on a unit that will make 2 mind war attacks per turn.
So if you want to use mind war to pick out the generic heavy weapon troops to open up paths for your venoms it can be a good option. However if you are looking for something to take out vehicles or masses of fire warriors keep looking.
Well, I figure I have starcannons and brightlances to deal with anything else, I just wanted my council to have some good power.
I haven't played for over a year, and never really played with the Eldar I bought very much, so I'm rather untested, and I never had an actual Ulthwe army, just an army painted in that scheme.
Mind War I think will be what I go with, as it will allow me to take out heavy weapon operators, and with a couple warlocks with augment, I should be able to reach quite a few things.
