    Hidden Deployment

    Hi guys,
I just have a question reguarding the Hidden Deployment rule. I have read some tactica on 'Nids and have hurd about how lictors are able to hide so the enemy dont know where they are. Also, IG have a upgrade for tanks called camo netting, which allows them to follow the hidden deployment rule.

The problem is, i can't for the life of me find the hidden deployment rule in the rule book or such. Is it non existant...if so...how do these units function.

    Cheers,
    SquishyB

The rule is called Deep Strike. It's on page 84 of the rulebook.

I had reason to belive that, but does that mean that tanks can deep strike as such?

sorry, can't really help you with that one. Imperial Guard is the one army I know nothing about.

it says they are able to setup using the Hiden Depolyment rules....so they must follow the Deep Strike rules but not Deep Strike per say.

So with the lictor, it must be deployed following the Deep Strike rules? I supose this kinda makes it seem like its poping out of cover

yes the Lictor uses the deep strike rules, except that it must deep strike into a piece of area terrain. This could be what the IG one is as well, but I don't know.

Lictors have a special rule which allows them to deepstrike into cover.

I believe hidden deployment is in some missions. I'll be back with you to tell which missions allow the hidden deployment special rule.

Hidden Setup is on p.205 of the BBB. It is listed under the Raid Missions rules. I hate how the BBB is pieced together, all the missions and alternate force orgs ought to be in one section of the book instead of spread out. Basically, you use tokens to represent your hidden units during deployment. Vehicles must be hidden in or behind appropriate sized terrain. Camo netting (only avail to IG) allows you to setup vehicles out in the open. Hidden Setup is not related to Deep Strike at all.
Just out of curiousity, whats next? Maybe you can make an issue about the fact that GW didn't define the action of 'rolling' a D6 to actually mean dropping it in such a manner as to produce a random result; thus making it perfectly acceptable to just put them down with the face up of your choice?

That sucks, as i have the BFM Rulebook. Whats the point of using tokens...the opponent can still see it right?
