Quick Quest: Pinning or Morale test, which is first?

Couldn't find it in the search function, and wanted to know the reference in the BGB.

Question came up a number of times in games I've been in.

    Thanx in advance.

Doesn't matter, but easy way is pinning, then morale, as if you fail a pinning test, you can't fall back anyways. Oh, and as a reminder, the morale check is down at the end of the shooting phase, the pinning after each squads shooting, as you can have multiple pin tests from being hit and wounded by multiple pin squads.
    My armies:
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
    7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
    1,500+ of Legion (just started)

Actually, it DOES matter, especially in terms of scoring units. If there's a chance that a unit could completely run off the board, I'd rather have them do that than just be pinned for a turn.

So if they are pinned, you skip the morale run test altogether? That's how it is?

By the rules, yes, pinning occurs before morale, as morale happens at the end of the phase, pinning after each unit shoots.

But although you may be pinned you can still be broken. The only difference is that you won't run, you'll stay still but still count as broken, until the next turn when you will try to rally and then start running if failed.

Perhaps you ought to reread pinning on p 32. You cannot be broken while pinned, so you cannot fall back=)

Not trying to sound aggressive or belittling, just posting the facts.

So if you pass the pinning check but fail the morale, you run as normal. If you fail the pinning check you skip the morale check altogether as well. That would mean also that once you are pinned, you cannot become "unpinned" via additional shooting.

    Check:yes:

    Check:yes:
As per page 32, yup. Doesn't take morale checks from shooting casualties, and becomes unpinned if assaulted.
