I apologize if this is covered elsewhere, but I cant find it and I want to make sure I dont make a mistake with it.
My understanding is that markerlights cannot benefit the squad that uses them. ie. a shasui with a ML cannot use it to allow his FW team to shoot with +1 BS. It can be used for another FW squad to take +1bs against the markerlighted target though? And networked markerlights can be used to benefit any squad including the unit that is using the networked light itself?
This seems to be what the codex explains, although it doesnt make logical sense that your squad's ML can only benefit other squads and not your own.
Thanks in advance for clarification.
No that is completely correct.
I'm not totally sure why the squad can't benefit...because you could just as easily slap a Hard-wired target lock on the Shas'ui, mark a unit, while a second squad Shas'ui marks a different unit, then the squads could "Cross-over" fire, so to speak, and both gain benefits from each others markerlights.
Hope that helps.
On page 29 of the Tau codex, it describes the networked Marker light and states "it is fired before the remainder of the unit fires"
"It takes a vast amount of self control to be this dangerous."
