Ive noticed some weapons with an AP of 1. I ask, what does it mean? Is their any special bonus that the AP 1 confers?
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
No special rules at all for it, just that nothing that gets hit with that weapon will get an armour save.
Rumour has it that there may be modifiers to AP in the next edition released later this year.
Really? I hope that's true, because I am not content with just knowing that the Ap 1 punches with resistance towards heavy armor. I think it would be cool if the sheer penetrating force is enough to punch through anything, including invulnerable saves. I do think that this would make Ap weapons too powerful, and points would definately have to be adjusted though...so it is all just a matter of fluff. Anyway interesting post.
I think that originally there were plans for creatures with 1+ armour saves, but these have been delayed or scraped all together.
I heard another rumour the other day and that is that terminators might get 1+ armor save in the next edition. It's just speculation, but atleast we'd find some uses for ap 1 weapons
But that would make it an all or nothing type of thing. Rather uselss if you ask me.
If termies get a 1+ save, then I'm gonna cry. If you can't keep them alive long enough to do their job with a 2+ save, then you're not using good tactics. Besides, that would make all my plasma rifles a lot less useful.
even if they did get a 1+ it would only be agains ap
a 1 ALWAYS fails, remember- even a lascannon can fail to wound a guardsman- in the same way all a 1+ save would do is allow them to save agains plasma but not melta weapons
A one dose not alwayse fail. Show me the rule on paper and congrats, but it was never writen. Example, str10 vs 10 armor no mater what you have to glance(or penatrate), even if you role a one.
