OK, so I have one of the previous model SM Captains, ya know the sweet ones with the storm bolter and power sword. But therin lies the problem, I know the stormbolter is a 2 handed weapon, so I understand I have to have one or the other. But do I have to rip off the stormbolter (which looks soooo incredibly sweet) and rig up a bolt pistol or can I keep the stormbolter attached and just put a pistol holster on him?
isnt the storm bolter 1 handed?
and at any rate, an independant character can have one 1-handed weapon, and one 2-handed weapon... so there isnt really a problem...
and if you're just playing friendly games you can call it a bolt pistol, even if it is a stormbolter
Moved to 40k Rules Questions.
Storm Bolters are a 2 handed weapon, but you can take 3 hands worth of weapons over 2 weapons. So yu can have 1 2 handed and 1 1 handed.
Storm Bolters are unable to count as a bolt pistol due to their size. Thay can't be used as a close combat weapon even if you have True Grit.
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
i meant proxy it when you play with friends
thats what my mate does and we have no problem with it

I think Ling_Lover thought you meant to find a way to make the StormBolter act as a Bolt Pistol, but I'm pretty sure what you want is to know how you can keep the Storm Bolter, good news is like the others have said, your perfectly fin using the StormBolter and Power Sword on him, as a Character can take any of these combinations;
- ONE 1-handed and ONE 2-handed Weapons
- TWO 1-handed Weapon
- ONE 2-handed Weapon
- ONE 1-handed Weapon (it may never be done, but it IS still an option)
Hope that helped.Thats why Grey Knights rock so much! (Especialy when they are orange! ) They get to use Storm Bolters using the True Grit Rules, if you can get your hands on a DaemonHunter Codex, it's on Page 8, but it still only applies to Grey Knight units, so not InquisitorsOriginally Posted by Forgotten Flashlight
Keep in mind that the RULES for WYSIWYG are a one way street. If you paid the points for something, in a tournie, it must be modeled. If you have it on the model, you don't have to pay the points for it.Originally Posted by ClarionMarine
This leads to people rolling models in bits and glue to make sure that it's wysiwyg compliant. Looks like crap but then you don't have to worry about swapping them out.
And yes, friendly games most people allow proxying.
And by modeling rules, there really is no such thing as "modeling rules" in the 40k universe.
tournie rules, game rules, but no modeling rules=)
