    Fall Back/Regrouping Clarification

Hey, all. Played a battle today and need a clarification of this rule.

In the Regrouping section of the 40k rulebook, it says that a unit must be 50% strength or above in order to regroup.

So, if a unit is falling back, does it remain falling back forever (until it falls off the table, anyways :shifty: ) if it has less than 50% strength? Without taking into account, of course, upgrades that different armies can buy, etc.

    All help appreciated. ^_^

Once a unit under half strength is falling back, it continues to do so until it leaves the table, is trapped, or is engaged in assault (or somehow rallied by mysterious means).

Basically you can only rally if you can fulfil the conditions laid out in the regrouping section of the rulebook (no enemy within 6", over half strength etc.)

Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.

So, when his single man (from a squad of 10) started running away, he just keeps going? That's how we played it, I just had to double check. Thanks.

Yes, unless a model/unit has ATSKNF, they continue to fall back (most people take the model off there and then) in their movement phase.

Well, I believe there are other upgrades that allow units to regroup even if below half strength - I need to do some reading. Thanks again. ^_^

Tau Bonded teams and Imperial Guard Officers with Iron Discipline are two other examples.
