Bit of confusion about spore mines. In some of the older books I read that acid and poison do damage to only non Tyranid units. No explanation on the frag. In the new codexes I don't see explinations for it either way confirming weather it hits Tyranids or not. Anyone think they can claryfy this and post the text quotations for it?
I see the animal, the beast that is mankind whenever I look in the mirror. It saddens me greatly to see how far we have fallen...
Deserve Victory, my friends, for we stand as the last in line.
When all else fails, hit it with a hammer.
as far as i can tell, the explosion can affect 'nids, but the mines will not be detonated by being too close to friendly models (of any race), only enemies will detonate them
'Nids codex, pg 29 for that.... but thats all thats said about it
Well, since there aren't really any page quotations since it doesn't say it I'll just explain. The codex never specifically says that they can't harm tyranids, so you could use synapse to set off a spore mine in the middle of your own squad to hurt them if you wanted.
It does say though that they are only set off when they come in contact or within 2" of a non-tyranid unit, so they wont automatically kill your guys if one scatters into a squad.
