Just wondering about units holding a marker..
For example in a Secure and Control mission, you need to have a scoring unit within 6" of the marker.
My question is: if a dedicated transport is full with a scoring unit squad, can it park beside the marker and is it then counted as holding that marker? or does that squad have to get their lazy butt out?
The way I see it is...
The transport itself can't hold objectives, but I think that if the squad is inside it counts.
You know what, ask Rork.
By holding it doesnt mean that one of the guys has found a big round thing in the area and picked it up, but rather that they are dominating that area of ground. Arguably this means agressive behavior which they can not exhibit whilst strapped into a vehicle, but equally a squad of 3 eldar rangers are probably not exhibiting more agressive behavior than a unit in a transport, arguable they are 99% certain to be out of view, but they can hold the thing, therefore it is onyl necessary for a scoring unit to be within the area, the fact they are in a transport is not a consideration
Everything you have been told is a lie!
The transport vehicle doesn't preclude the unit on board from being scoring. The unit is within 6" (or where ever it needs to be to hold ground) and is a scoring unit - the fact that their transport isn't a scoring unit does not alter the properties of the unit it carries.
So going by the table on pg 85, the unit on board will be scoring as long as it has at least 50% of its starting number left. Nothing in the rules says that being on board a transport vehicle alters this.I've got to start charging by the hour  .You know what, ask Rork.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
