Something came up the other day.
Previously, we had determined who won combat based on the number of casualties, a friend the other day said it's actually wounds (Not un-saved wounds, just ANY succesful roll to wound by the attacking player.)
Is this true? I hope not because it's much easier to keep track of casualties, not succesful rolls to wound.
Your friend, (As a lot of friends posted about here) needs a nice friendly smack to the face.
Only unsaved wounds count.
Don't bother having anything more than meaningless small talk on this forum, the moderators won't allow it
Thanks for the quick reply, but could you point me to where this wording is?

''It begs the question; why would the emperor permit something quite so dangerous and untamed to exist? And that would be to take down another Space Marine Legion."
Counting saved wounds would mean that things like terminators would be loosing a lot of combats.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
YEah, the distinction between casualties and unsaved wounds is important. You don't have to kill a multi-wound model to win combat against it.
War Record Since Sept 2005
Old Codex 48-20-9 Dark Eldar
New Codex 1-0-0 Dark Eldar
sad little side note on that too, is that you only count actual wounds inflicted, so a librarian that hits a carnifex with a successful force weapon, would still only inflict one wound even though it instant deaths the carni. So 4 scarab swarms that inflict two wounds on a carni would win combat even if the carni inflicted one wound to the scarabs and killed a 3 wound base.
Gotta love GW's attention to details.
yup, casaulties work only in the case of single wound models.
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)
