1st: If I had a troop squad of 8 Chaos marines, one of which is a AC and the AC had at least two or even four chaos hounds and Daemon Armour. If they were shot at or assaulted could the AC pull his hounds first If they were the last models left? Would the majority armour rule apply or would the hounds be counted as war gear and the AC have to make the saves and be lost with the hounds?
2nd: If I had as chaos troops sqaud that failed thier Leadership test and began to Fall Back could I use a Rhino with a dirge caster to move within in range one or two moves later and cause the unit to be Fear--- there by keeping them from falling back any more? Or may be they fall back into a Rhino with one?
not sure what hounds count as, but for the second one. Fearless just means you automatically pass any leadership/moral tests. If the squad can take a test (I.E. above half and away form enemies) then they will pass it and rally. If they cant, then the fearless never gets a chance to matter.
Take life seriously, its lethal.
Warhounds (wolves) are wargear but they have stats like 6+ save, attacks, In, wounds, ect.
The answer to the second question makes alot of sense.
While purchased as Wargear, the Hounds (and all Followers, for that matter) follow the same rules for Majority Toughness and Mixed Armour saves as any other model in the unit. In the example you gave, the first seven wounds would be assigned to the regular Chaos Marines. The next five could be assigned to the Hounds or the Champion as you saw fit. Repeat the process for any extra wounds waiting to be assigned.Originally Posted by Tommy
Please do not forget that even if you have a majority T/Sv case going on an opponent still gets to pick a target if there are more successful to wound rolls than there are models in the unit. So in your case (8 marines + 4 hounds): If there are more than 12 successful to wound roll he could pick your asp champion. In that case the hounds might be removed with their champion.Originally Posted by Caluin

What Lamenter said is correct, but just a quick note: you only need to cause as many wounds as the squad has members, not more than. So he'd only have to cause 12, not 13 in this case.
You're right, I wouldn't normally add extra stuff that wasn;t part of the discussion, but we had a similar discussion yesterday.
Shut up and play.
Thanks for all the help. That clears things up for me.
