Can a pychic hood cancel a power from an aspiring champion with the mark of tzeentch? It clearly states that they automatically pass any psychic test they are allowed to make. sO they never have to roll for the test to begin with.
Yes but psychic hood negates the power after you make your psychic test. So TS's always pass the test.....Then you roll off for the hood.
yes, you can cancel the psychic power used by an asp. champ. of Tzeentch.
The hood allows you to cancel psychic powers that require a test. (That is why stuff like synapse creature and some of the Eldar Warlock powers cannot be negated.)
In the case of psychic powers used by the Asp. Champ. a test is required, but he automatically passes it. So as "Davesnotthereman" said, you proceed directly to dicing off to cancel it
Shut up and play.
Depends on the power. I believe psychic hoods can only cancel powers that require a test (doom bolt, mass mutation). As it says under the hood's description they are only used after the test has been made. Certain powers require no test however. Minor powers of Tzeentch for example state that no test is required. Also, Bolt of change and other tzeentch powers have no such test requirment in their descriptions. Yet another benefit of chaos.
GLORY TO THE CHANGER OF WAYS!
Maybe it doesn't mention the test in Tzeentch power descriptions because inherently the test is passed, so as not to be redundant, no mention was made.
As far as I know, all major powers require a test.
Sadly, yes, Psychic Hoods will effect models with the Mark of Tzeentch. While MoT models automatically pass any test, the test is still made. That is the only requirement for the Hood, so it's fair game.
Just remember (since it comes up often enough) that Flamers of Tzeentch are not effected by the Hood. Only those with a MoT.
Auto pass doesn't mean that the test isn't taken. It simply means that the test, no matter the result passes. Much like fearless and stubborn. Its just that most players, who realize that an auto pass is a waste of time to roll, generally don't roll autopass checks. That doesn't mean that technically you should be rolling those psychic tests, or morale checks.
So, simply yes a psychic hood applies to any Tzeentch powers that have a psychic test regardless of autopass abilities.
If the tzeentch power has no test associated with it then TS for the librarian's hood.
So, take the Bolt of Change for example. It states that it is used in leiu of firing a weapon. Therefore, you must take a Psychic Test, but it's auto-passed due to the MoT. However, you still took the test, therefore are fair game for the Hood.
Tyranids are the exception to this, since many of their powers don't require 'usage.' They simply confer an ability upon the model or battlefield.
