Hey all. Okay, so I am starting an Imperial Fists army, and as a result of their trait, they can give their tactical and devastator squads the Tank Hunters skill. It says in the codex at 3pts per model. Say I had a 10 man tactical squad, can I give the skill to just the lascannon guy for 3pts, or do I have to give the skill to the whole squad for 30?
Thanks in advance
I agree that you should have to give it to the whole squad, as I have always done so. But does anybody have an actual ruling for this?
Of course doing anything less would be grounds for major slapage in anything but a tournament, but it would be a good, sneaky way to shave some points for an uber tourny army if there was no actualy rule against it.
Note that the description for the Traits state that the SQUAD may buy the skill for X points a model - not individual models in the squad may by the skill.
For a comparison, look at a Space Marine Tactical Squad. The Frag Grenades are mentioned that the Squad may purchase them; but special weapons are noted that a model may purchase it.
Big difference, easily over looked.
You are absolutly right. It's not written into the rule, per the USR in the bgb like it should be, but it does in fact always say "squad" in the trait description.
