Can a squad of Dire Avengers utilize the Exarch power "Bladestorm" and then go into close combat? Logically it would seem that if they are standing there reloading, that assaulting would not be possible, but hey, who said anything in 40K was logical.
When in doubt call in an ordnance strike.

Bladestorm mixed with fleet of foot lets you kite footslogging troops ad nauseum as long as they dont have a 12" assault range. Also on Turn 5 dropping a bladestorm then running for an objective turn 6 with fleet is another use for it. Honestly, DA's arent amazing in combat against any MEQ's especially because the exarch will usually have only a power weapon meaning he still needs 5+ to wound T4 along with the rest of his unit. The only nice thing is that the shimmershield will negate a few powerfists.
