Well, I've seen quite a few questions come up again and again, such as Monstrous Creatures and Shooting etc. They are normally simple questions with simple answers, yet they are still asked and asked again because people are unsure. This made me think "Why aren't they all put in the FAQ Rules thread?". I personally think it would be much better if the FAQ Rules thread was kept up to date, to make rules checking much easier and to free up this board.
The problem is I can't post in that thread because the last post was so long ago.
One thing I dislike is the how the thread is currently set up; the formatting and suchlike. I just find each question isnt distinguished enough. So here are my thoughts:
Category Titles: Currently just in bold, I think should be seperate post for each category.
Question: Red and bold.
Answer: Bullet point.
Source: Next bullet point, bold.
Example:Originally Posted by Current FAQ threadI know this would be a fair bit of work, and the problem is that it'd have to be a mod who would edit it into the post, which would be more work for them.Originally Posted by Ideal FAQ thread
However, I'm willing to do a fair bit of it for the current one.
What do you all think?
I like the idea, but there is already one of these I believe. It is a sticky by knape up at the top of the page. Its just no one posts on it.
Edit: sorrey I didn't read the part on not being able to post in the old thread. I thought though that there was like a box that you could check to post in old threads. If not, I guess its a good idea to start a new one.

The only problem is that is it worth all the time sorting it all out if no-one is going to use it?
The current one may answer some simple questions (which for some I feel shouldn't be there; get the BGB dammit!), but the more complex ones aren't there. I feel for it to be worth my time that someone can update it with the newest rules questions, not just the basic ones there currently (which are answered in an obvious place in the BG.
I know I could do it myself but I'm fairly busy. Maybe if there is a quick question in a thread, someone could post a link and quickly sum up the question and answer, so I could put it in the appropriate post.
Just some more ideas.
EDIT: I also spoke to Caluin. He said it was a good idea but they take ages to actually take off, and I'm only one person; I ca't do it all myself shamefully.
I'll start though.
Well, the BGB doesn't help itself with its format. Lots of rules are in silly places and that can confuse newer players. To be honest you need to read the book 3 or 4 times to really get it. Especially if your an old player like me, for a while there me and my friends were accidently throwing in old rules. So i can see if newer players are having a rough time of some situations.
Most people should know these IMO. I've never played a game and only read the BGB once through and I know these. Especially the last one.Can I re-roll a re-roll?
No, you can only ever re-roll a dice once; the first result is completely ignored and the second result stands. (p5)
Can you shoot once with Rapid Fire weapons and still assault?
No. If you shoot at all with Rapid Fire weapons, or heavy weapons, or shoot pistols twice, you cannot assault afterwards. If you fire assault weapons, or fire pistols once, you can then assault afterwards. Bikes and Terminators, and certain other models with a similar special rule, can still fire certain types of weapon at full effect and then assault afterwards. (p36)
Can I fire at unit A then assault unit B?
No. You can never assault a different unit than you fired at, not even Terminators or Bikes, and not even if you completely destroyed the first unit by firing. Note that if you destroy a transport by shooting, you cannot then assault the unit that piled out. (p36)
Can you measure range before choosing a shooting/assaulting target?
