Hi, I'm fairly new to 40K but I've read most of the rule book so far. Right now I'm having an argument with my friend. In CC he's been using the AP values of his weapons to attack my units, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense because a rocket launcher wouldn't fire in CC (I assume). So my question is, what values are used in CC? I'm guessing that you just use the models S and not the weapon's STR (unless it's a melee weapon), but I'm not completely sure.
Another question I might as well ask now is how does Piling in work? Can anyone within the 6" during an Assualt phase join a CC? Thanks.
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
Part one, you are absolutely correct on CC and weapons. See bgb p 41 has the answers you are looking for, in the section titles ARMOUR SAVES.
As to your second question, bgb p 44. Units that were in CC, and that still have models in the enemy unit Pile In. Start with the players turn it is. Models may move up to X" inches to contact enemies in the unit they just fought. Then your opponent does the same.
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)

Thanks. That'll clear up some confusion.
