If I model a Space Marine Commander to have a Power Sword in one hand and a Thunder Hammer in the other hand, how many attacks does he get with each weapon?
3 from one weapon and 1 from the other?
Or 3 from one weapon and 1 "regular attack"?
What makes me say this is I've been considering Lightning Claws and a pair of those give you an extra attack. But is that extra attack a Lighting Claw attack? Or just an extra attack with his normal stats?
All attacks from a model come from a single weapon of your choice. You may not split attacks between weapons.
So in your case, you could either attack four times with the Power Weapon, or four times with the Thunder Hammer. You can change between Assault Phases, but not during.
As far as I know, this rule holds true for all models except for one, who happens to be a special character and not widely used.
Just as a side note that I know you are well aware of, but you can only make attacks with the weapons you've paid for. Modeled weapons have nothing to do with anything.
Also, you can choose to forgo special weapons and attack with your base strength (bgb p 46 IIRC). So a marine with a PF and a PW would have to attack with all his attacks (base 2 for serg if you're giving him such weapon layouts, +1 for 2 CCW's, and +1 if he charged=4) and couldn't choose to attack just once. But he could choose to hit those 4 times with either the powerfist, the power weapon, or his S4 if he so chose.
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)
In most cases it's best to decide what his roll is and give him that weapon and if possable a CCW to make him the most efficiant version of what you want.
