The rulings for Mechanized (IG Doctrine) say that evey infantry unit has to have a transport, but conscripts are too big too fit in a transport. Also for the infantry platoon, I assume that you can take one transport for each squad, otherwise they wouldn't fit.
I appreciate any help on this topic.
Each squad can take a transport. Transports are always bought for squads, not whatever formation they're a part of. Platoons aren't units - IG squads are.
Read the 1st page of the doctrine rules about conscripts. There is a list of what units are affected by doctrines - conscripts aren't there (although they can benefit from close order drill).
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
In the description of Mechanised on pg 56 of the IG Codex, it states that all Guard Infantry must have a transport. On pg 55 it tells you what 'Guard Infantry' are. Conscripts, although seemingly great candidates for 'Guard Infantry' are not classified as such (I guess they haven't earned their stripes yet.) As such, they'd be your only non-mounted unit, and sitting ducks for the Heavy Bolters :ninja:
So what are conscripts classed as I wonder? Guard Meatbags? Guard Bulletfodder?
"here are your stripes, you are to be the meat shield for the meat shields"
"sir i have no training"
"you don't need training, as long as you can operate a flashlight you'll be fine"
